Understand the youth of today. Eligibility Non-profit organisations, academics and all students doing their postgraduate dissertation, undergraduate honours thesis, or Project Work are welcome to apply. Though not compulsory, it would be advantageous if the researcher possessed some knowledge or training in social science that will help in the conceptualisation of the research framework. The research proposal should show sound and scientific methodology. The studies should be issue-specific and concern youth (ages 15-29). The studies should enhance current understanding of youth issues and preferably be applicable in practice. While studies on risk behaviours (crime, smoking, etc) are accepted, studies that focus on positive youth development that addresses the broader developmental needs of youth are encouraged. Action research pertaining to strength-based youth development (mentoring, youth civic engagement, etc) or non-profit management (capacity building, governance, leadership etc), as well as programme evaluation are also encouraged. |
