What is Service-Learning (S-L)?

In a nutshell, S-L is a way of helping youths discover important values and lessons while engaged in community service. It is the ideal tool for effective Community Involvement Programmes (CIP) in schools and organisations.

S-L is learning that lasts. It is learning that helps youth make connections between the service they are providing and the world around them.

The S-L methodology, which originated from the United States, capitalizes on community service’s ability to be a rich learning environment for youths to develop themselves.
S-L is an instructional method that has remarkable promise for schools and all who are in youth development work to adopt the S-L methodology to enhance the effectiveness of your youth programmes.
