OBS Leadership and Service Award

The OBS Leadership and Service Award (LSA) celebrates and recognizes youths with outstanding contributions in leadership and service in our community. LSA winners are offered a scholarship to participate in the internationally-renowned 21-day OBS Classic Challenge Course.

OBS Leadership & Service Award (LSA) is celebrating and recognising youths with outstanding contributions in leadership and service within our community. Outstanding youths are offered a scholarship to participate in the internationally-renowned 21-day OBS Classic Challenge Course.

As part of our mission to develop rugged and resilient youth to be active citizens who are inspired to serve the community, LSA recognises youth’s capabilities, develops their inner potential, and inspires them to be community-minded.

OBS 21-Day Classic Challenge Course

  • A personal development programme internationally recognised by all global Outward Bound centres and educators in the global outdoor sector
  • Multi-element and multi-expeditionary programme that stretches participants beyond their comfort zones, enabling self-discovery and growth beyond self

Award

  • Successful applicants will be awarded a full scholarship for the prestigious 21-Day Classic Challenge Course
  • The LSA includes a mandatory community service components during and after the 21-Day Classic Challenge Course

Award Criteria

  • Aged 17 – 35 years old
  • Excellent leadership and service track record
  • Has experience and is passionate in improving the community
  • Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are eligible for the LSA

Course Objectives

  • Enhance personal confidence through self-awareness and harnessing strengths
  • Build resilience though overcoming daily adversity
  • Think creatively, innovatively and break out of the status quo mind-set
  • Sharpen personal leadership skills to be a more effective, credible and inspiring leader
  • Strengthen the spirit of giving and caring to the community and responsibility for environmental impact
