Inter-University Network (IUN)
The IUN dialogues allow student unions across five autonomous universities in Singapore to connect with the Government to discuss national-level issues and co-create policies.

Formed in February 2022, the Inter-University Network (IUN) is a ground-up collective representing undergraduate student leaders from Singapore’s six Autonomous Universities (AUs): NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SUSS and SIT. The IUN fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration among student leaders, while advocating for youth perspectives on national issues affecting undergraduates and young adults. NYC works with the IUN to facilitate two-way engagement between university students and the Government, ensuring youth voices and concerns are reflected in policies and programmes.
One such initiative is the annual University Leaders Dialogue (ULD), organised by the IUN with support from NYC since the network’s founding. Hosted on a rotational basis by one of the six Autonomous Universities, the ULD brings together student leaders to build connections, share best practices and discuss issues affecting undergraduates. Following each dialogue, IUN representatives work together on a plan to address key concerns raised.
University Leaders Dialogue 2026
In 2026, the IUN focused on graduate employment and workforce readiness, exploring how résumé-building and intense peer competition were contributing to stress among undergraduates, and what skills employers need.
The IUN is conducting a national study with undergraduates across all six AUs to better understand the issue and its root causes. Findings will be shared here in due time.
University Leaders Dialogue 2025
In 2025, the IUN explored the theme of redefining success, with 135 student leaders discussing how success is shaped in Singapore. While traditional markers such as grades, internships and career prestige remain important, students called for broader definitions that recognise personal growth, well-being and individual aspirations.
Building on these insights, the IUN partnered with NYC and Milieu to survey over 1,100 undergraduates across all six universities. Findings were published in the whitepaper, Redefining Success: Perspectives from Singapore’s Undergraduates. [PDF, 698.90 KB] (opens in new tab)
University Leaders Dialogue 2024
In 2024, the IUN focused on cost of living, with 125 student leaders discussing rising costs and their impact on financial stress. The IUN identified financial literacy as a key gap and partnered with MoneySense and NYC to produce SGAG videos on budgeting, saving and responsible investing.
